MEXEM and German taxes

MEXEM was founded in 2018 by experienced investors and is a European introducing broker that provides access to global markets through the Interactive Brokers platform. MEXEM is licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission CySEC (License No. 325/17) and serves investors seeking broad access to global trading and a wide range of financial products at competitive prices.

As with all IBKR-based brokers: MEXEM does not withhold German capital gains tax and does not provide an annual tax certificate according to German law. German investors must calculate their own capital gains and report them in their tax return.

BubbleTax as official MEXEM partner

BubbleTax is an official partner of MEXEM and is recommended by MEXEM as a tax solution for German customers. Data processing works identically to Interactive Brokers – you export your FlexQuery XML file and receive a complete tax report.

Coupon via MEXEM

MEXEM customers receive a coupon code through their broker, which can be redeemed during the checkout process on the BubbleTax platform. The coupon is applied against the purchase price.

How it works

1. Export FlexQuery – Create an account statement in your MEXEM/IBKR account (XML format)
2. Upload to BubbleTax – Upload the XML file
3. Redeem coupon – Enter the MEXEM coupon during checkout
4. Get your report – Download your PDF tax report for your German tax return
