Sample report: a finished German tax report for Interactive Brokers
This is what a finished tax report looks like.
Before you upload your own data, you can look at a complete report here. It comes from an anonymised test account at Interactive Brokers with 726 transactions in tax year 2024: shares, funds, dividends from several countries, interest and an interest-bearing US dollar account.
The report consists of two PDF files. The summary contains the amounts per form line and the derivation by category. The detailed report adds the appendix with every single sale, its FIFO allocation and the broker's original bookings.

What the report shows
Both files follow the same structure. The detailed report appends the individual records.
- Tax summary
- The amounts for lines 19, 20, 22, 23 and 41 of Anlage KAP and lines 08 and 26 of Anlage KAP-INV, plus warnings and notes on data quality.
- Tax derivation
- Gains, losses and income per category, the withheld and creditable withholding taxes, the items that do not enter the tax return (currency differences on liabilities, debit interest, fees) and the reconciliation to the form lines.
- Breakdown by category
- Investment funds under the InvStG, shown per fund category and before partial exemption, shares, dividends with withholding tax per security, interest in euro and US dollar, and foreign currency gains and losses from the US dollar account.
- Open positions and data basis
- 15 positions at year end with holdings, the imported broker exports and the calculation methodology with the rules applied.
- Detailed records (detailed report only)
- 109 securities with every sale, its FIFO allocation to the purchase, holding period and acquisition cost, plus the original transactions with price, fees and ECB reference rate; 15 distributions with withholding tax; 68 interest, fee and other bookings.
- Not included in this case
- The test account contains no options, futures or corporate actions and no advance lump sum (Vorabpauschale). These sections only appear in the report if the account contains such transactions.
